New Chapter Open In Turkey EU Accession

Turkey takes a step forward on its path towards the European Union with the opening of a new chapter of negotiations on the environment.

“The fact that it is a difficult chapter means that we are entering a more serious phase of negotiations,” said Carl Bildt, the Swedish foreign minister for the rotating EU presidency, stressing that the enlargement process continues.

“It is an important step in relations between the EU and Turkey”, added Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkey’s foreign minister, hoping that in the future the negotiations will have “a greater impact” on preparations for the country’s accession to the EU.

“To open this chapter of negotiations, 26 different institutions and governments have worked diligently in Turkey”, explained Egemen Bagis, the Turkish minister of EU affairs, stressing the great attentions of Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on environmental affairs.

Cumberland Properties enthusiastically welcomes this national focus having long been champions of environmental considerations when constructing property in Turkey.

Currently building is in full swing at Cumberland’s Woodland Regency project set in the heart of a beautiful, 5.4-acre, tranquil forest of pine and olive trees, abundant with wildlife, and conveniently located in the village of Konacık, much in demand by investors due to its close proximity to Bodrum’s elegant town centre and its ease of access to the peninsulas many other idyllic villages.

After constructing and selling property in Turkey for many years Cumberland Properties had already implemented measures to use during their building processes to become more environmentally friendly but great lengths are being taken to preserve the indigenous flora and fauna whilst works continue. Not only content with this unique approach to the construction of property in Bodrum, Cumberland Properties are also looking to enhance the natural environment.

Cumberland’s Landscape Architect Gözde Tavaslı’s careful selection and eye for detail extends beyond simply her choice of plants, cultivated at Cumberland Landscaping and Design, to compliment the natural landscapes, but also to areas such as the provision of nesting boxes in the woodland to encourage the already prolific diversity of birdlife to flourish further.

There can’t be many busy construction sites where sheep, geese and free-range chickens peacefully graze in the adjacent fields!

Currently at Cumberland Landscaping & Design stock exceeds 20,000 flowers, shrubs, trees and herbs all being grown simultaneously. Palm trees from seeds, basils, daises, cacti, roses and banana trees are the more recognisable names but the majority are local flowers and perennial plants that help Cumberland achieve a constant stream of blooms in their gardens.

Cumberland already had a fine reputation across the Bodrum Peninsular as a “green” developer in Turkey. But ever environmentally conscious and certainly not content to rest on their laurels (pardon the pun) they have dramatically expanded this side of their business.

With the acquisition of an additional site, just south of Bodrum Milas Airport – keep an eye out for it beneath the “Cumberland Properties” sign on the right hand side of the main road as you travel south toward Bodrum – they will be able to better serve the local community.

This expansion has been fuelled, in part, by an increase in demand from other local developers and wholesalers who clearly envy their green fingers!

Cumberland Landscaping & Design not only aim to expand their business to cater for this sector of the market but also to offer their services to the wider community by the provision of a retail outlet.

Gözde Tavaslı will also be extending her services and considerable expertise by offering her talents not only within Cumberland but also on a consultancy basis to other developers as well as members of the general public.

Turkey A Location That Is Much In Demand

Filed under: Bodrum Property Developer, Turkey — Tags: , — admin @ 9:31 am

Turkey remains in the top 5 holiday destinations globally with just under 30 million tourists flocking to its stunning beaches annually. Turkey’s superb climate which, boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year, together with its alluring quality of life, help to sustain this position.

Turkey itself is in the midst of a property boom. Turkey’s current accession talks for membership of the EU, with likely inclusion as a full member in the near future, are progressing at a meteoric pace and are adding to the burgeoning interest in the Turkish property market.
Turkish property still offers massive potential for returns on investment. Last year property prices rose by circa 50% with a proportionate increase in people looking to purchase homes in Turkey. This year has seen prices increase by a further 30%. This extra demand is set to push prices up significantly and further underpins the market.

Since its application for EU membership, Turkey has received a host of foreign investment that will contribute to fast improvements to its infrastructure in readiness for EU inclusion over the next ten years. Already improvements are in evidence, with the recent refurbishment of the main road between Milas-Bodrum Airport and Bodrum. Additionally, there has been further investment from both Europe and Russia in relation to the respective Nabucco and South Stream pipeline projects.
Corporate investors are creating new resorts, golf courses and other tourist facilities and these are clear indications of a growing tourist economy that will continue to boost capital growth for today’s property investments.

The most popular spots for tourism and property purchase are along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts and over the past eighteen months, the number of Britons owning property in Turkey has increased by more than 200%. It is now possible for foreigners to obtain local mortgages, further encouraging this emerging market.

It’s not just property investors who are showing a strong interest in Turkish property at the current time. Due to the low cost of living and beautiful natural resources Turkey is also an appealing location for second homes and a popular retirement destination for many Europeans.
The most popular searches for Turkey property are for Bodrum property.

Bodrum Property Developer in Turkey

Cumberland Properties specializes in building high quality Bodrum Property. With over 5 years of experience in designing and developing properties in Bodrum, Cumberland Properties is proud to say it has made hundreds of happy homeowners in the Bodrum Peninsula. Bodrum Property is high in demand for property investors and holiday home buyers from the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Scandinavia and Russia.

Bodrum offers year-round great weather, colorful entertainment, historical sites, delicious dining, cheap shopping and overall peace and tranquility that will add years to the life of all those that live and visit here. With the latest Vita Park Golf Course and the Bodrum Golf Club serving the golf fans in the Bodrum area, it is no wonder why so many people choose Bodrum at the top of their holiday destination.

Covering an area of 649 square kilometres, Bodrum is situated on Turkey’s Aegean coast and holds a unique history that stretches back 2,000 years. Located between Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Black Sea, Bodrum is home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World – the tomb of Mausolus who ruled on behalf of the Persians from 377 to 353 BC. More recently Bodrum has become a tourist mecca attracting hundreds of thousands of European and domestic holidaymakers each summer.

Renowned for its bougainvillea-splashed sugar-cube houses and vibrant nightlife, Bodrum also boasts excellent restaurants, a great museum and various local markets selling food and clothing, which run throughout the week. There is little humidity on this stretch of the coast, with the summer heat tempered by sea breezes and the sun often shining continuously from May to October. Winters in Bodrum are also mild and because of these pleasent year-round temperatures, the resort is more than a one-season town and attracts visitors throughout the year, aided by Bodrum’s international airport, which is well served by charter flights, making access from the UK easy.

Bodrum’s skyline is dominated by an imposing Crusader Castle which overlooks the harbour and the international marina. Beyond the town itself, much of the Bodrum peninsular is carpeted in olive groves and ringed by smaller resorts, beaches and new marinas at Turgutreis and Yalikavak.

Since the Turkish law change allowing non-Turkish citizens purchase property in designated areas, Bodrum Property has more than doubled in value and continues to do so. The stable economy of Turkey and the lower property prices compared to their counterparts in most of Europe, Bodrum Property is attractive to most investors.

Investors thinking of purchasing a rental property in Turkey may be able to look forward to healthy yields, it has been claimed. Turkey currently offers good value housing for foreign buyers and its popularity with holidaymakers and businessmen means that there will be a solid demand for property, reports Property Wire.

People who are thinking of buying a Bodrum property have been advised that investing in Turkey could be highly profitable. According to Aston Lloyd, this European country is an emerging market which offers very competitive house prices. However, growth in the market means that property values are on the up, which means investors who buy early could benefit from capital appreciation.

Overseas property investors are being encouraged to take advantage of recent developments in Turkey. According to property author Dominic Whiting, low-cost airline easyJet is now flying between Gatwick and Dalaman four times a week. This means that it could be an ideal location for people who are thinking of buying a buy-to-let property overseas, as this could trigger growth in the tourist sector. As a result, owners of holiday accommodation could enjoy higher occupancy rates and greater rental yields.

A growing number of overseas property buyers are choosing to invest in Turkish property, a local news provider has said. According to the Turkish Daily News, investing in the country’s property market has become a “hot new trend” among buyers from other nations. The newspaper said this was largely due to Turkey offering greater potential for capital growth than more established foreign property hotspots in Europe. In addition, it stated the country’s population was likely to rise as it became more prosperous, resulting in greater demand for property.
